Butterfly Challenge- Week 4

Week 4 of Butterfly saw Dave and Fenella step up and take the Butterflies through their paces! This week the focus was on combinations:
Double Jab, Right Hand
Jab, Hook, Right Hand
Double Jab, Hook, Right Hand.
When practicing your combinations, try using light, quick hands. Aim for speed and accuracy, rather than power. As Gareth says "Speed = Power" For example, a car moving slow has less force on impact that a car travelling at high speed. The same applies for delivering a cracking punch.
SPEED = POWER
Scientists have proven that Boxers deliver the most powerful punches- over and above Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do and a whole range of martial arts. In delivering a Right Hand, the force actually starts from the foot and extends to the tip of the fist on delivery.
Imagine if you dare, a flow of light and powerful energy that starts from the first movement of the foot and drives up through the legs, the waist, a fires up through the shoulder and along the arm to the fist in direct motion.This explains just one of the reasons why Boxing is such a great overall body work out.
Speaking of workouts, the Butterflies really stepped it up this week in our circuits. Congratulations to all for really digging in and giving your all.
To our Butterflies who were unable to attend because of illness- Get Well Soon and to our Butterflies who had to tend to some very important commitments, we look forward to seeing you next week.
Until then,
Put on your favourite colour and your best smile and enjoy your week!
